After watching the videos, it is easy to see that dance improves the physical, psychological and social aspects of a PD suffer's life. I found it interesting to read that the difficulties with intrinsic cues such as those needed to take the first step for walking, can be overcome by providing suffers with extrinsic cues as in music cuing the next step or movement. They certainly all seemed to be enjoying the dancing!
ReplyDeleteHello there, I'm pleased that the videos clearly gave you a positive view on how dance can be used as an intervention technique for those who live with Parkinson's. I agree with you, I also found it interesting how music can be used as an external cue to help encourage movement. Isn't it great to see them all happy and so enthusiastic about dance :) Thank you for reading my post and commenting.
